My shipping data report for my 63 coupe indicates Dealer 37 in Zone 47 and gives the name and address of Barry Chevrolet, Aledo Illinois. A quick look on Google indicates the Chev dealer there today to be Essig Motors so I am assuming Barry Chevrolet is long gone. I am going to start tracking this down as far as I can through Chamber of Commerce, etc., etc. but before I do I thought I would throw it out there and see if anyone knows of or remembers this dealer.
It kind of lines up with the story I got from the person that bought the car and imported it into Canada in the mid 70's as he said the person he bought it from was from Galesburg Illinois, which not only puts it into the right area but could possibly make him the original owner. The only other information is that this person may have owned an auto parts business and possibly had a double name like Allen Allen.
As a real long shot, does anyone remember a Saddle/Saddle 340 hp 63 coupe in this area?
Oh yeah, one other thing, according to the official build date it looks like my suspicions are correct and I am the proud owner of the dreaded "Monday morning car".
