    Mark Post Read?

    Hi,

Previously, when you read a post, the forum automatically marked it as read and the title went from bold to normal (not bold). This no longer happens. I looked at bottom of page for a mark forum read, but didn't find it.

However, selecting new post from the menu resulted in all read posts disappearing and only new ones shown. While this is good, while reading the forum without the immediate sign of which post you have read it is easy to loose your place. This is especially true if there are alot of posts to read.

Anyone else experiencing the same behavior?

    Dennis,

Normal behavior using Chrome browser for me.

    - New Unread Thread is bold
    - Open New Unread Thread
    - Exit Thread and Thread is displayed with normal not bold text

I use Chrome and am experiencing the same issue as Dennis. All subjects stay bold even after reading.

Also, strating this morning, the board is not keeping me signed in. Yesterday morning it was fine. This morning I was logged out and I did select remember me when I signed in. After reading I closed out and went back in and had to log in again.

I am using Chrome and following the same practice I have used for as long as I have been reading the forum.

Dennis, I put a Help Desk ticket in yesterday on the login problem.

              Dennis,

The software timeout is 1 hr. The cookie was modified to maintain being logged in when the Remember Me box was checked.

This is not functioning and is on the fix-it list.

Dennis, this is what I see on the main forum stickies that shows the threads I've read as regular text.

Until there is a resolve... perhaps consider simply REFRESHING your browser (or use the F5 keyboard button).
Refreshing the screen worked for me yesterday... give it a try.

                        Lief,

                        1) you made your post and it shows First Name & Last Initial. We need to know how to duplicate that problem. I asked in this thread for help
                        https://www.forums.ncrs.org/showthre...name-to-change

                        2) Mark Post Read
                        a) you accessed via the "New Posts" button ?
                        b) what did you do next after that?

                        Thanks for your help.

                            Thank you.

BTW, I still have the same old problem of not being able to move from page to page on the board without logging in for each page. Example, if I sign in to ncrs.org and go to the TDB, I have to log in again. Likewise if I go to register for an event or to the classifieds, I need to log in again.

                            Regards,
                            Dennis

                              1) Aha, you didn't say you were using the "New Post" function.

Will have to check out/test New Post.

                              2) reset your cookies, close your browser and reboot your PC

Then run those tests for us again please.
