Is it necessary to remove the dash to get the "side" windshield moldings off? I have not received the new ones, for comparison, and I can not see what holds the bottom end in place. Thanks, jackdr

Re: 69 Windshield Header Molding
I don't think it's necessary to remove the dash. As I recall, the windshield pillar moldings are not attached at the lower end, they merely fit in between the pillar and the dash pad for an interference fit to keep them in place.

Bad news....
If it's the upper side corner moldings you're talking about (plates that sit on the extreme RH/LH upper ends of the upper windshield frame), you're in for a BIG job.... You almost HAVE to remove the windshield glass to replace these puppy dogs.
Study your copy of the AIM (Assembly Instruction Manual) and you'll see there are screws holding the corner moldings to the windshield frame from the lower FRONT side. With the windshield glass in place, it's darn near impossible to get a screw driver into the crack between the glass and the molding to back these attaching screws out without hitting/breaking/chipping the upper edges of the windshield glass itself....- Top
