My question is should white or black be in the upper right hand corner of the checkered flag on the 66 wheel spinners? A little background....on page 332 of the Nolan Adams restoration guide he states, "On the fuel filler cap early 66's had white in the upper corner. Late 66's had black in the upper right hand corner." Adams also shows a prototype wheel cover (with no valve stem hole) that has white in the upper right hand corner. Did the flags on the spinners change when the fuel cap flag changed? I have spoken to people who claim to have original wheel covers. Some have black in the upper right and some have white. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Happy New Year and I hope to see everyone in Orlando!

C2 Checkered Flag Spinners
Barry,
I think you're going to have a hard time finding anyone who can tell you anything definitive about the B&W arrangement on the spinners. On my 66, 1 or 2 of my spiiners have white at the upper right and others have black. It possible that they all came one way in 66, but someone could also have replaced one or more hubcaps with service replacement items ove the years, so unless you can find several original owners of 66's, I think your going to be frustrated in getting an answer.
