I am trying to fit the convertible top frame to my 58 so I can install new canvas and at the present moment I'm about to pull my hair out. The problem is that I have never had the top on the car for the last 17 years that I have owned it and have no idea how to adjust it. If I adjust the outer brackets at the body to obtain the required clearance around the side window the pivot point in the middle of window keeps dipping down and hitting the window. Could something be bent and if so how do I check it? Also what is the purpose of the inboard brackets at the body and what is the procedure for adjusting them? I sure would like to see this go together so I can finally put the hardtop away! Thanks in advance to anyone who replies. P.S. Does anyone know when the CDROM restoration articles will be out?

Re: 58 convertible top frame
Kris, Sorry that I can't help you much with the questions about the top as I am just taking my 62 top apart. A few weeks ago I posted a question about how to remove a soft top from the frame and recv'd a few threads directing me to a video on convert. top assembly that can be purchased from Al Knoch Interiors for $48. I am still thinking that this might be worth the investment. Meanwhile, I just received my CD of the Corvette Restorer today. Good Luck, Eric- Top
