    Casting number for a 1966 427BB

    Is the casting number for a 1966 427ci located in front of the starter as it is on a 1967 car ?? My guess is yes, just want to double check. Thank You in advance for your replys. Mike Chase

          casting date is on side of case just ahead of starter motor but casting NUMBER on 396-427s is on rear flange of case on drivers side
