Thanks Lyle for the great information on the location of the chassis sequence stamping for my 1973 roadster. After cleaning the dust and paint flakes off the top of the chassis rail I could see the sequence number by using a strong light and a small mirror. The sequence number stamp is located on top of the chassis rail (near the leading edge) adjacent to the rear chassis body mount. The best vision of the sequence stamp is obtained by removing the driver's side rear wheel so that you can get inside the wheel well amd slide a small mirror along the gap that exists between the body and the chassis rail.
