    Center clock/radio console replacement

I need to replace the center clock/radio console on my 1959. The previous owner cut it up to fit in a larger radio and it now has a large gaping hole where the original radio should go. I purchased an original unit in good shape but am a little unsure as to the best way to seperate the top portion from the dash section and how best to re-secure. I'm sure some of you guy's have tackled this problem and can offer some advice.
