    C1 engine bracket bolts

What are the correct bolt markings for the metal spark plug shields and ignition shield brackets for a 61? I can't find them in the Paragon or Corvette Central catalogues, and their tech support doesn't know since they tell me they aren't reproduced.
    Thanks,
    Ron

    Ron -

The spark plug HEAT shields are attached with 1/4"-20 x 1/2" hex bolts; don't know what the headmark is supposed to be, but Paragon has 4 or 5 varieties of this size bolt. The ignition shield brackets (that accept the shield wing-bolts) are attached under the head of the exhaust manifold bolts.

I went nutz with bolt questions...

...Last year. Basically, Paragon etc. will supply excellent hardware, but GM bought ordinary hardware from numerous supplers, usually several at the same time, to avoid running short. The sway bar bracket bolts on my car are untouched originals, yet 3 are plain unmarked, one is "WB 1C". Of course, new supplies were tossed into the bin on top of the old, regardless of supplier. This would mean that car #501 might have different bolt heads than car #500. The best you can do is talk to judges and find out what the possibilities are, or check original fasteners on cars of similar VIN. Just about nobody is going to go out on a limb and say "you need bolt head X", and if they do, they might disagree and still be right. BTW, I couldn't find some of the markings I wanted from Corvette suppliers, but 55-57 Chevy suppliers were able to help.

        Good luck!

          Ron--
I've found "E", "TR", and "RBW" bolts in those locations. Those are also the primary suppliers for oil pan 1/4 x 20 bolts in that era. They are dished-head bolts. Hope that helps.
