The JG states that the 760 horn is on the left and the 759 on the right. mine are in reverse if you look from the front of the car. The 760 would be on the left if you look from the drivers seat. Is horn 760 on the drivers side or the passenger side.

Re: 1955 Horn Configuration
ge4neral rule of thumb on nearly all GM parts that are asymetrical( left sided part not interchangable with right sided par): if the part # ends in an even # the part goes on the passenger side of the car and if it ends in an odd # it goes on the drivers(left side)- Top

A common misconception...
"Left and right" are always the orientation of the VEHICLE, not the observer. I work summers in auto parts and I can tell you, this drives us nutz. Your horns, according to the NCRS JR and your description, are correctly installed. If you want, I will crawl into the grille of my '55 with a flashlight and read my numbers. In fact, since the '55 is the least documented Corvette, I'd like to ask you about a few details on yours...
BTW, is your car listed in the 53-55 Registry?- Top

Re: 1955 Horn Configuration
Dave:
I figured out from the first response that the drivers side was the left side and therefor my horns are indeed installed correctly. No need to look under your grill. Yes my car is registered in the 53-5 registry and I do not mind questions. My e-mail no is dsteele89@comcast.net. Car is located in Florida.- Top
