Removing the LF tire on my 85 I encountered a lug nut that would loosened but would not come off. I continued to twist the stud and broke it. Reading my 85 service manual it indicated to remove the brake caliper, brake rotor, and use a tool to remove the stud. I cheated. I saw that there was enough room from the back side of the assembly to just use a center punch and knock out the remaining stud, and retrieve it with a magnet. Rotated the rotor and using my no tools inserted the new stud in the assembly and using washers and a lug nut secured the new stud. Did not take much pounding at all to remove the broken stud. Saved some time doing it this way.
