I searched the archives and found a few posts on the style of the actuator. My car is #27107, about 10K after the 3rd edition manual says the switch was made to the dual-pie pan style (about 17xxx I think - I don't have the book handy). Several folks posted that they have cars later than this that still have the cannister. My car has the cannister now, and it appears as though the bracket 'ears' may have been straightened out to allow it to fit - but I can't tell for sure.
Has there been anything more definitive on this subject published? I need to replace the actuator, and would like to get the correct one.
Also, regardless of actuator style, the TIM&JG only talks about a single rubber bellows type - three bellows plus one on each end - being used. The pie pan style actuators I've seen have a conical-shaped bellows on them. Assuming my 69 should use this later style actuator, should it still have the older style bellows or should it use the conical style?
Thanks,
