1960 Generator Heat Shield?

Should my early 1960 have the generator heat shield installed? AIM doesn't show a heat shield; Noland's book makes reference to it, but seems to be in context of 1958 discussion.

Joe,
The heat shield was not used by 1960. They moved the generator up and away from the exhaust manifold and the need for the shield went away.
