C1 Radio Speaker Bezel

At my attendance at the Florida Regional in January, I carefully checked the dashes of '58 Corvettes being judged for the presence of a radio speaker bezel. I saw none on '58 or '59 cars being judged. My '58, built in early January '58 has a bezel. Corvette Central states that " 60-62 Speaker Bezel and Grille can be used as a replacement on 58-59." My brain tells me no bezel. Can someone clarify this for me? The car is a driver & I am installing a new dash pad and don't want it incorrect. Thanks in advance.

No speaker bezel on 58's or 59's.

Thanks! That was my 99.99% read on the question. Wonder why my car had one?
Someone must have put one in with a replacement dash pad. Does make the fit much easlier.

You are correct, It is eaiser to fit a pad with the bezel and a lot of people prefer the look of the bezel.
