Convert Automatic to Standard C3 72

Looking to make my first purchase. I found a great 72 automatic. Is the firewall and floor factory ready for a conversion? Any knockouts? Is this a good idea?

Andy,

Likely not worth the $ (likely $2000-3000) when you consider the price to buy one already a 4 speed. This is especially true when you consider that there's a lot of little stuff, not just the price of the transmission.

I also much prefer 4 speeds, but if I were you, and you've purchased it already, then I'd drive it until you find the 4 speed you want. You may find you like the automatic more than you thought. Either that or you can give it to your wife someday. If you haven't purchased, it, then wait. As I've told many people, they've built well over a million Corvettes. The one you want IS out there.
