Anyone know what happened to the attempt to get a Corvette enthusiast license plate issued in Virginia?

I remember seeing something that they had until June 30 to get at least 350 people to sign up. Several times over the last year (with the most recent being in June), I have sent emails as well as called the contact listed for VCC asking for further details on the process. One of the questions involved the fees they were asking for (i.e., what would happen to my check if they did not get 350 applications). I never received an answer to any of my emails or the phone message I left. Given the lack of response from VCC, I did not feel comfortable sending a check to someone I did not know for something that I might never receive. If my experience is any indication, I can see why they might be having trouble getting 350 people to sign up.

Its a shame too. The plate is good looking. I would definitely buy it since I already have a personalized tag on my car.

that may explain why it has disappeard from the VA DMV website. It was a good looking plate.
