454 Hood Emblems for '73, again.

Have decided to put the 454 emblems on the car (apparently the car came from the factory without the 454 emblems, but why have a 454 and no one knows it).

Question is, since the pins on the back of the emblems are just for location (I assume) and it is the adhesive tape that holds the emblem on, could I just remove the pins and not drill the hood? Would they stay with just the tape?

    Tom...

Marc, the emblems have a very short pin that extends only about 1/16" past the tape. Cannot see how they can be for anything other than location. They are not long enough to go all the way thru the fiberglass. (These are the GM part, not reproductions.)

Would appreciate any and all input.

                Thank you Marc

appreciate your input. The pins are not long enough to reach through the hood for speed nuts, they must be only for location, so the tape would be what holds them on.

Had really hopped for some input on this question as it is VERY important to me, but apparently it is not too important to the other visitors to this BBS.

                Again, Thank Marc.
