Hello all,
This question pertains to the air conditioning compressor for my 1969 350/350hp w/ac. I got a compressor a few years back from the local auto parts store since my 69 was missing its compressor (at the time i wasnt really worried about "originality",)but I never installed it. Within the last week , the shop that is restoring my car was getting around to the a/c and i told them i had a compressor that i purchased a while ago (I believe it is a refurbished comp.). In reading the JG, it appears that the only part of the compressor that is judged is the label, with appropriate info on it. I believe all the compressors are configured alike (A6 model?). So my question is, would I have to get a correct date coded (on the casting) for the compressor or can i get away with my generic parts house compressor with a correct label on it? thanks for any advice/info.
