Hello, The cruise transducer in my 77 is shot. I came across a GM transducer that is identical - except that it has a 3 pole connector vice the 2 pole connector that my 77 has. The extra pole is labeled "light". I'm supposing that the transducer will work fine since there is no indicator light on the 77, but wanted to make sure I won't generate any electrical problems by using this other transducer. Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks Steve

It's hard to say, based on appearances, if the transducer that you have will work properly on your 1977. The 3 pole versus 2 pole is likely not a problem if the third pole is for a light feature.
The original transducer used for your 1977 was GM #6465795. This part later went through many "iterations" in SERVICE. These included GM #25030350, GM #25030251, GM #25030711, and GM #25030878. All of these are discontinued.
If you can find a part number FOR THE ASSEMBLY (NOT a component of the assembly such as a casting number) on the transducer you've found and if it matches ANY of the above part numbers, then you've got a part that should function perfectly. Otherwise, it's hard to say.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
