1965 Corvette

In my quest to restore my 1965 Corvette I have found 3858180 327 engine block that falls within an acceptable time frame of the engine date that I need for my car. But this block has the small stamping pad and I am curious as to when this block received the larger stamping pad and what is an acceptable time range for the smaller stamping pad in 1965 with Corvettes that used this limited usage block.

All of the (few) that I have seen were about the tine of the strike end, mid 5000-mid 7000 range. But I've actually seen only about 4 cars with this block in the last 25 years of looking. I'd look for a flint block if I were in the market.

I know of someone that has a 65 Corvette engine that may be for sale at the right price. It is a 327/350. I have the numbers off the block and heads written down if you are interested.
