Can someone please verify the correct distributor cap, rotor, points and condenser for a 906 distributor.
My book lists;
Cap (D305) 1917247
Rotor 1940123
Condenser (D200) 1869704
Points (D103P) 1938330
Thank you,
Chuck Spiteri
The rotor is D-407 and the condenser is D-203. D-305 and D-103 are the correct delco numbers for the cap and points respectively. You will need 2 sets of points.
Dave;
Thank you for responding to my questions. The 906 distributor is configured for the 250HP engine (283CI). It is equipped with a vacuum advance and utilizes a single set of breaker points.
Can you provide me with the 7 digit part number for the rotor and the D203 condenser??
Chuck Spiteri
I must be confused. If you have a vacuum advance I believe you would use the D-308 cap w/ the D-106 points and D-204 condenser. The 891 style distributors use the D-305 cap. Lets get it right before I give you part numbers.
Hi Dave;
The 905 uses dual points (no vacuum advance). It was on all 283 HP engines and some 250 HP engines. The 906 (vacuum advance & single points) was used only on 250 HP engines. Neither distributor uses a cap with the "window".
I hope this clarifies the matter.

Then the D-305 cap, D-103 points would correct. The difference between a D-203 and D-204 condenser is the length of the wire(D-204 is longer) so with the single set of points the D-204 condenser may be a better bet. You will need a D-407 rotor. The D-103 points have different GM part numbers as some are preassembled and the earlier are not and the rotors will have a different part number if they are in a box w/ multiple rotors. All ignition parts will be identifable by the Delco(D) number so a GM number should not be necessary but if you need them I can check actual delco boxes and convey the numbers to you.
Dave;
If it is not too much trouble, I would appreciate it if you could provide the correct GM numbers including both configurations of points and the rotor numbers as well.
Thank you again for your efforts in educating me.
Best regards,
Chuck Spiteri
