    Ignition Rotor Information

    Can someone give me the Delco D number for a 1940123 ignition rotor and any vehicle use information would also be helpful. I know in the 1958 parts book, it was specified for 1957 Chevrolet & Corvette with dual 4bbl & FI engines.

      The early ones had a button on top 55 till??, second design had none,and are all the same till they went to the round rotor type Car or Corvette??. But we need other opinions.A 6V rotor won't work in a 12V dist. but looks close to the 12V design.

          The Delco system part number for the GM #1940123 was D-420. The application was 1957 passenger cars with 2X4 or FI, all 1957 Corvette, and 1958-1960 Corvette with 2X4. This part was discontinued from the GM parts system on April 1, 1961 and replaced by the GM #1927393 aka D-407. The 1940123 remained available through the Delco parts system until at least the early 70s and, perhaps, even awhile thereafter. It is no longer available through Delco, though. That's for sure.
