My 59 has an ignition key with "Briggs and Stratton" on one side and "GM your key to grater value" on the other side. Thr trunk lock is operated by a different key with the "GM key to greater value on BOTH sides". My manuals say the ignition key should operate all the locks including trunk. Trying to decide what to do. I assume that the ignition key may be correct and the trunk lock has been replaced. Any advice will be appreciated.

Re: 1959 keys
Easy enough to figure out. Which key opens the doors and the glove box, the ignition or the trunk? All Early GM locks can be reconfigured by your local key expert so you can match the corret key. I bet the ignition has been changed. If I remember correctly,on a replacement ignition switch the crome part will have 2 drilled holes instead of the one on originals (page 15 of the judging manual)- Top
