    Lacquer Paint Available!

Recently I went to my local paint supplier to get a quart of Argent Silver mixed for my 1967 wheels. I fully expected to use enamel or B/C.

They were able to mix me a quart of Dupont Lucite Lacquer!

The owner also told me he can still mix all colors including the earlier Nitrocelleous types. He has stock and can still mix lacquer for those so inclined to still use it.

This jobber has been around since the 40's and is very reputable.

www.williamwolf.com for the website and you can contact Marvin Wolf at his email address marvinwolf@williamwolf.com

I have not painted the wheels yet so I cannot vouche for the color, however, it was mixed to the Dupont paint code.

    Regards

    Tom

As I have said before anyone can find it if they want to.

The hard part is finding a jobber that still stocks it. Plus some of the original mixing colors are not available.

        Re: Painting '67 Rims

Tom, Quick question. Does the whole rim get painted silver? Or just the front and the back would be black?
Where in Cleveland do you live?
Thanks Ken from North Royalton ('67 Lynndale Blue)

          Ken -

The wheel was dip-primed black originally, and the face was sprayed silver, with some overspray through the slots; back side of the wheel should be semi-gloss black.

            Hi Ken,

John is correct in the later posting. I have the original spare unused still in the carrier and now have a good example of the spray though form front to back.

I'm in the Aurora area. I have a silver pearl 1967 coupe, unrestored form the original owner. Received a top flight first time out at LE chapter
