    Burlap Bags

    Folks,

Have a question for you - would anyone happen to know where I could get the burlap bags that the elephant ears were shipped in from the factory? I know that somebody probably makes something in close proximity.

FYI - reason I am asking, is that I hopefully will have the Z06 ready for the Carolina Regional (have registered!), and since the cars were delivered with the elephant ears in the burlap bags, Carlton Colclough said that was fine to show the Z06 that way.

I wouldn't believe anything Carlton said, but

before he passed away, I used to buy those bags for my '62's from Dale Pearman. I do not know if the '63's used the same or similar bag. Assume the P/N's stenciled on the bag would be different. I will say the bags I got from Dale looked exactly the same as the ones I used to get at the feed & seed store.

      Re: Burlap Bags

I was told that Vinny Giaquinto had those made. He's no longer in the hobby--probably sold what he had to Dale. Vinny's cars were always done by Ron Bunnell (sp?)who has a restoration shop on the east coast. Ron might be able to help, if someone knows how to contact him.

Good thing the bags Myrtle & Gertrude carried were large enough to fit over their heads...

Mike, Who might the Pappa Smirf

Of No. Wilksboro be? I live fairly close to No. Wilksboro NC and it sounds like a nice Sunday ride. That is if he's up for a visit from an ole 56 heap with a trunk full of cold beer.

There is only one ncrs member whose mug was used to create Poppa Smurf: Dickie Whittington(spelling) who ran Brushy Mt Corvette in the 80's and 90's . he used to live in no wilksboro but is now a bit west-north west of no wilkesboro running an angus beef operation. he's a frequent poster on this forum. one of the "movers" in NCRS in 80's and 90's. a real good buddy. mike
