I just aquired a piece I have some questions about maybe someone out there has seen this before? It is a 67 400 hp oval port aluminum intake, has the winters logo. Does not have nor does it appear to have ever had a casting number on it, the surface texture is consistent, does not appear to have ever been tampered with. Nor does it have the distributor indexing mark I normally see next to the distributor hole. The dat code is in the usual location and is 2-16-6, yep pretty early. Also has on the rh side both the smaller and larger vacum tubes coming off the primary carb intake port. Has anyone seen this before? Could it be a prototype? It also has a #3888 center carb dtd 682, the chevy part # is on the left side facing the front of the air horn and the list # and dat are on the rh, odd? The last strang one is the front carb is identical to any 3659 I have ever seen but carries a list # of 3661 and a chevy part # of 3902357. Both very close to what would be the norm for a 3660 carb with the chevy # of 3902355. It appears that all the components show typical signs of age and "patina" one would expect to see on components as these that had been sitting around a long time. Any thought out there?
