Hi Everyone,
Well, I saw it coming since Thursday, hot temperatures and high heat indexes for the weekend. It was what I've been waiting for to test the cooling system "tweaks" we all discussed some weeks ago for my 68 L-89.
Here are my two days of "testing": (By the way, my thermostat is a 190)
Saturday: 2:00 pm, temp: 93 degrees, heat index: 105. Drove the car in-town, stop and go for an hour. Temp never got past 210. Highway for half-hour: temp was 220.
Sunday: 2:00 pm, temp: 97 degrees, heat index: 115. Drove the car in-town, stop and go for an hour. Temp got to approx 205. Highway for half-hour: temp was approx 215. (This was an even hotter day!)
This was a cumulative testing of the one-by-one "tweaks" I had been doing. The difference Sunday was the reminder George Daina gave me to remove my front license plate, which I wanted to test on its own and separately. Thanks again George.
I plan to continue through today and tommorrow. Hope everyone is having/had as great a weekend as I am SO FAR. Also, Thanks again to everyone that participated over the past few weeks. Tom #24014
