    '65 flasher

I am confused about the flasher for my '65 coupe with b/u light. Is there a flasher on the fuse panel? I currently have one on the radio side panel. Are there two flashers? And if so what kind are correct for each area.

    thanks

I haven't owned a 65 for 30 years or so and don't remember, but my 67 has only the flasher on the radio side panel. I ASSUME the 65 is similar.

Jeremy - Ed's right on his '67and the turn signal flasher on your '65 according to the AIM should also be on the instrument panel (radio side panel). '67s also had the hazard flasher and it was mounted on the fuse panel; but '65s had no flasher specified for the fuse panel assembly and I don't even think there was a receptacle for one in the fuse block. I'd expect to see a two lamp flasher in the radio side panel location since you have B/U lights. The more likely application is a Tung-Sol 224 or a Signal Stat 144; both are for two lamps, one front and one rear. Pete

Your '65 will have 'holes' in the fuse block for a flasher, but NOTHING is installed there. The flasher installs on the extention harness and clips to the LH side of the center console. For '65 cars equipped with Z01 option (backup lamps and D/N mirror), the correct flasher is either a non-DOT, blue metal can, Tung Sol 224 or a rectangular can Signal Stat 175, per the Judging Guide.
