I'm trying to restore my 63 center console aluminum piece. How do you recreate that brushed finish? Any other pointers appreciated. Has anyone had it restored professionally and if so what was the cost and who doea it? Thanks

Re: 63 center console restoration
Tom,
Check out Joe Santacroce's web site. He is a regular contributor to the tech board and has an ongoing, fantastic documentation of a '63 restoration in progress. This includes the center console resto with outsource listed. I think that I will even consider sending mine out to his friend.
Just click on one of his messages on the board and you will see his web site highlighted.

Re: 63 center console restoration
Syd, thanks a bunch for the comments.
Couple of notes. The Hubcaps were done by Tracy Crisler, another NCRS member, and he did an incredible job on them. The console and extensions were pretty dinged and scratched and I sent those to Paragon. Didn't know where else at the time. They actually farm out some of the work themselves.
To strip them, remove all dings and scratches, and re-annodize everything was estimated at $575. I haven't received those back yet but expect them in a week or two. As soon as I have them, I'll post some pics.
Thanks again,
Joe..
