    lots of questions....

As usual I have many questions. I'm done in the garage for the evening and some things have made my list.

    1. I took off two shims off the bracket that is attached to the ps reserve bottle. they were on the motor side, behind the bracket, top or bottom bolt? there was a washer too. I'm assuming these were used to align the pulley's. Where do they go?

    2. How do you know the harmonic balancer is in all the way(on)? I can't tighten it by hand and more and when I back the bolt with large thick washer off, the crank is still about 1/4 inch or more recessed into the balancer. The question is does the balancer and crank end have to be flush? when tighten?

    3. Rubber hoses for fuel lines to fuel pump. The front, do they have red/green clips?(68 427/390) And (refresh memory) the small line is the vapor return line?(it's late) And the rear, and special colored clips on hoses? The reason I ask is I got a piece with red clips, and have seen green clips. Does this go on the front or rear vapor return line?

    4. Oil filter piece. I went to put the oil filter on an the piece was missing so I found it, but it has 2 bolts and a hole thats not in the center. This hole has a ...spring I think in it. Does it matter how I bolt this to the block, should the x-tra hole/screen move..it doesn't.

    5. I'll have more tomorrow...good night..I mean morning. jc

    Re: lots of questions....

Chester, I can help with a couple of things, first, no the crank does not come flush with the balancer. If you have installed the bolt to the recommended torque, you will be ok. The oil adapter hole is a relief valve. if you press on it, the flat will move. it is only there in case the oil filter becomes clogged. (highly unlikely) For the clip details, I'd check the judging guide. Your car is "too long since I've owned one" for that kind of detail.

Doesn't matter, like I said, it's a bypass, either orientation takes it bach to a common chamber.

Thanks, it's mounted. Would you put a auto Zone oil filter on the first couple of miles, then the repo. the price is substantial. or go original reproduction. jc
