I am trying to restore the seat belts in my 69 coupe. The pinch rollers are rusted pretty bad. Does anyone know how to remove them from the lap belt Tongue? Does anyone make a replacement or know where I can get one? I have tried to pry them out with a screw driver without much success. Any help would be appriciated.

Re: 69 Seatbelt retoration
If you want to do the job yourself, you can. They WILL come out if you devise a small spreader bar (like all long screw or all thread with nuts) and GENTLY bend open the sides of the buckle enough for the insert to be removed. Once it's out, blasting off the rust and laying down a fresh coat of cad or chrome plate will fix.
On re-assy, don't forget the anti-rattle foam that 'lives' in the snap-on cover and presses against belt/pinch. Last, if your snap-on covers are trashed out, the Corvette gods gave us an 'infinite' supply of NOS originals! Check out the front seat center seat belts of FORD T-Bird/Lincoln Continentals of that era. They were nice enough to use an identical snap-on cover that most owners stuffed away (and protected) to get rid of a nuissance issue (passenger/driver belts will NOT have these covers -- only center seat belt).- Top
