    68 PB low pedal

My 68 BB with power brakes seems to have a lower pedal, but I'm not sure. Today, the previous owner drove it and thought the same thing, then after a minute, wasn't sure either. We had it on a lift for other reasons and saw no leaks. He pulled the MC off the booster and it looked dry. The fluid level is constant. I'm pretty sure it the pedal is lower. He said the MC could leak between chambers causing more pressure to be required and thus more pedal. Does this make sense? Any other thoughts? The MC is an after market replacement and is probably a few years old.

    Thanks

With what you have done already, bleed each wheel caliper untill clean fresh fluid is runing through the calipers. You should see improvement in pedal after changing out the fluid in the rear calipers if they are pumpers of air into the calipers due to excessive runout.

I agree with your friend. I've had several master cylinders do as he described. Sometimes the pedal will be okay and sometimes not and sometimes, the brake warning light will come on. Master cylinders in both cases fixed the problem.

        Mike and Jim

Thanks for the advice. My brake warning is not working, so the first step is going to be to see if it is trying to tell me something.
