    Spiral Shock update (long)

First, you should know that I found these accidentally while looking through the upcoming reproduction listings of the manufacturer. I was able to talk to the rep today, and fill in some of the gaps. The intended application is not Corvette, so I have asked them to check the extended and compressed length. Apparently, the manufacturer is creating this item with existing tooling, and is not currently pursuing marketing a Corvette shock. There is no trademark, date, or part number on these reproduction shocks. They would not specify when this would be available "If I say a month, it could turn out to be a year, if I say six months, it could turn out to be six weeks, then where would we be?" was his exact statement. According to the information provided, retail would probably be in the $150-$200 range for a set of four, although they will be sold in front or rear pairs. Naturally, the final price will be set by retailers, based on delivered price at that time. One of the posts below noted that the "front" shock in the photo had a rear shock style dust shield, which of course the Corvette part did not have. This could easily be cut off by the customer. The rep said he should be able to get the length info to me in a few days, from the prototypes in their engineering dept. We'll see.
