C2 65 Spare Tire Tub Date & Part Number

Need some help on how the date should look that is stamped inside the tire tub. Is it JAN 12 1965 or JAN12 1965. Where is the part number stamped and what is the number.
    Thanks Mike

Mike - After looking at the date stamp on my '67's spare tire tub it looks there is no spacing between the month, day, and year, so it reads JUN161966. The width of the stamping is 1-5/16". I am not aware that "original" tubs had a part number on them. Pete

      Mike,

I have been researching the same thing. One of the guys checked his tub and it was ie "JAN6 1966". The picture in Bobbins book (page 324)is not very clear.

Also, does anybody know the PN for the spare tub for a '67?.
Dobbins' shows a PN of 3841???, page 324, (apparently white paint stamped on tub side) but I can't make out the last three digits. The AIM says the PN for the Cover, and the Cover being the tub part, as 3886899 WTF? I can't find a number for the tub in any of my other books.

        Gents,
I just looked at my original '65 tub and here is the information that I found.

I cannot find any "ink stamped" numbers or date code. On the front side of the tub, viewed from the inside (on the raised-molded area are the letters MFG inside an oval. Under the MFG is the number 19154.

Not sure what this means. Guessing the MFG was the supplier and since the numbers are not all in a line, they my be a combination of part number and date code.

        Hope this information helps.

        Regards,
        Gene
