I spun the #7 rod bearing and would like to have a total rebuild done on the engine. Where can I get the parts for this & is there a rebuild kit available for my engine? Also, are there any modifications that can be made internally to allow the use of 93 octane pump gas without reducing the horsepower of the engine. Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

Steve there have been several posts in the last week of a great deal on big block crankshafts for $99 including shipping or a tuftrided one for $150 from www.howardscam.com. If I had spun a bearing like you I would order one today for that price of a GM produced crank. -

agree with jim, get the tufrided crank. wait till your machine shop hot tanks, magnafluxes and specs out the cylinders before ordering any parts. mikeComment

Guys - I just looked at the Howards website again, now they are showing blems as well for $20 less....the $99.95 price was for firsts....CraigComment
