I have an early 60 with the hydraulic power top. I have all of the operating parts still on the vehicle, but after looking at the Assembly Manual I realized that I am missing 3 shields for the electical parts for the system.(The microswitches) There is one beside each seat bottom (door side) beside the hydraulic ram, (to cover the microswitch) and another shield that looks like a small box in the folding top well to cover the microswitches there. I could see what they looked like from the drawings, but have never seen them in the real. Of the few power top cars I have ever looked at, none have had these shields still there. I have not found anyone selling these either original6 or reproduction. Has anyone seen these shields or have them installed on their power top cars? I am assuming that they are metal. Any information on these shields or how to get them would be appreciated.

Re: C1 1960 Power Top
Jim,
I have a 59 with a power top. The sheilds were on the car when I purchased it. It only has two, one in the folding top well and one on the passenger side beside the seat. Each have 2 micro switches. The covers or shields are made of metal but I don't know where you could buy them. Do you have the micro Switches?

Re: C1 1960 Power Top
I've had more power top assy then I can think of over the years, yes you need the two shields . The one located in the soft top area can be make easy, but the one at the right door area would be harder to make.. Put out a request on this board asking if some one would have extra parts left over from their PT car. Most people having a PT unit may have some parts .When you try to get the thing working (write me, I've rebuild many over the years).- Top
