My car had the aluminum top tank radiator from the factory. It was removed in 1966 and a new copper unit was installed. Could not find anyone that could repair all the leaks in the aluminum unit.
I was questioning if I should purchase the reproduction aluminun top tank radiator or the aluminun core with the old tanks from the copper unit?
The question: "Is there a cooling advantage with the more expensive reproduction of the aluminum top tank radiator compared to the aluminum cored cooper unit?
If the cooling is equivalent, I would go the cheaper route because it is a driver. This car has always run hot and now I'm in SC and it is on the average much hotter than Indiana. The current 327 probably produces more heat than the original engine and the 283 I have is not ready to be installed.
