Ram Jet 350 fit in C2?

Earlier posts reported hearing of a RJ350 being installed into a MidYear with some t******* of the hood bracing to clear the throttle linkage, if memory serves.

Can any of the membership out there speak to this fit question with firsthand knowledge? Like, have any of you tried it? And how did it work?

    TIA Mike

    Jeeze, I'd rather...

...trim the throttle. Way back, one of my Dad's '54 buddies swapped a big truck 6 cyl into his '54, and something at the front, the water outlet I think, didn't clear. Rather than create a modified part, he sawed a hole in the hood and made a bubble everyone said looked like a "turtle" on the hood. Got years of ribbing for it.

Mike, I saw a 66 a couple of years ago that had a Ram Jet installed. The owner told me that he had to trim a small section of the hood stiffener to clear the throttle linkage. He also tried a BB hood, which worked with no problems, but he didn't like the BB design. He reported that he loved the way the car ran. Lots of torque over a wide band.

I have read that Arizona Speed and Marine is offering a version that has the air inlet and throttle located to the left side, similar to the original RamJet FI. This would probably solve the problem.

If you mean a TPI in a Midyear, yes it requires a little relief of the hood brace on the SB hood.
