    New C6 Photos

The Southwest Chapter got a preview of the C6 courtesy of the GM Desert Proving Grounds yesterday. There have been alot of pictures posted, but the one thing that I have not seen much of is chassis photos. We were able to put the car up on a lift at a members garage and see the underside as well.

Photos are located at www.ncrs.org/southwest. Click 'Event Photos', and then 'July 10 C6 Corvette Preview'.

    Enjoy!

never saw id# with letters in last 6 of vin. No other 05 models have such. Wonder if IT means anything.

If you're referring to the 'EX' in the vin, that designates a pilot car that cannot be resold. This one will be destroyed after testing has run it into the ground.

True most get destroyed but some stay in GMs fleet. Some are kept for historical purposes and some remain at the proving grounds as "runner" cars. These are the Tahoes etc with the big stickers on the doors that state "Not for highway use..." The tragedy about the destroyed cars is everything even the floor mats get crushed. At last years 50th Annv of GMs DPG I spoke with one engineer about what they do with them when done and he told me they drive it to the crusher toss the keys on the front floor board and crush everything. Then bury it in the desert. Sad.....
