I just completed a body off frame restoration on a 74 that had BAD corrosion problems in the rear uptake area. Has your frame been sandblasted? E-mail me at mghaluska@aol.com and I'll send photos of work I did on my client's 74.

I have seen them in Carlisle, but not looked closely since I am not in the frame market. From the 5 foot level, they looked great, and the construction and welding looks probably better than the original (GM was not in business to make them pretty and you will see weld spatter and wire feed skip marks). However, I never really looked closely at all the brackets and did any side by side comparisons. But, I would place safety far above originality if there are any minor differences on a safety item like a frame on a driven car. You really should call Americas Finest Corvettes and Cranes Corvettes both in San Diego. You have to get past the attitudes but they do have some very clean midyear original CA frames without rust problems....Craig

Call Bill Grace at Grace-Way Machine in Burson, CA. He specializes in Corvette frames. I sent mine there and I could'nt be more happy with the results and the service after the repair. A really nice guy. He specializes in Corvette frames and gaurantees it to be within factory specs or even better in some cases. He uses a jig designed specificaly for Vettes. I live in Arkansas and it cost me roughly $2600 to get it fixed. That included shipping the BARE frame back and forth. I put a link to his website at the bottom of the page.
