    Off-Idle Hesitation

My '67, 327/300, 4 spd., 3810 Holley has a slight hesitation only when starting off from a standstill (eg. at a trafic light).I canot duplicate this hesitation by revving the engine in neutral. Carb was recently rebuilt. The accel. pump squirts a the slightest movement of the lever. I might add that I did not have this problem before the rebuild. Thanks!

    Re: Off-Idle Hesitation

The 3810 has three systems to discharge extra gas when the throttle is cracked from an idle. You've checked one of them, the accelerator pump. The other two are the 6.5 power valve in the primary metering block and the dual idle transition slots in the baseplate.

I assume you had your carburetor rebuilt by a shop. Their work should have included surfacing the main body and test running the carb. If so, I would call them, ask for their help, and expect it for free.

If you had a buddy just install new gaskets, then you might want to consider sending it to a pro now.
