What is a Gold Spinner Award? Is this antyhing to do with Bloomington or NCRS or does it have an equivalent to those orgs?

I believe that award is given to a recepient that enters the judging event at Vettefest in Chicago, at the McCormick center held during March or November of each year.

I believe it would be the equivolent to Bloomington's Gold certificate or NCRS's Top Flight certificate as to indicate achieving the highest award bestowed upon a Corvette in Restored condition.

Correct explanation!

Award is top honor for restored Corvettes at the Chevy/Vettefest. Judging is similar to NCRS & NCCB (Bloomington) with the exception of an Operations Test or Tech-Check since their meet is held indoors at McCormick Place. This is a 'by invitation' meet from a private judging organization. You submit an application with pictures and a textual narrative of your car to gain invitation/acceptance. Expect if you've done well at NCRS or NCCB, your car will probably be accepted.

The cut above Gold Spinner is their Triple Crown award. Prerequisites are having a Gold Certificate from NCCB and a Top Flight award from NCRS. If the car is then judged and gains Gold Spinner status, an extra token is put on the award plaque indicating a Triple Crown status for the Gold Spinner....

Unrestored Corvettes can get the Gold spinner or Triple Crown as my 5 star Bowtie car got that award. They could do operations outside and it is on the sheets but I have never seen it done. The meet was held outside at one time as it was my first time to go their and it was at a different location at an auto auction in Boiling Brook in the summer. Lyle
