Rebuilt 327 was installed, motor was timed, dwell set, etc. Was running good. Installed electronic ignition, still running good. Installed the dash wiring harness and then the car started running sluggish, backfiring out of the carb. Removed the electronic and reinstalled points, still sluggish. Removed distributor and installed an old one (frineds) without the tach gear, and retimed everything again. Car ran better. Reinstalled my tach distributor and put back the electronics and now car still backfires out of the carb?? Could it be the distributor? Someone mentioned "boiling gas" and install a "base gasket" on carb? Edelbrock manifold and carb.
