    Performed a continuity check with a volt-ohm meter between the light blue wires coming out of the headlight switch to the bulkhead firewall connector pin going to the microswitches. Disconnected the bulhead connector at the firewall and checked continuity at the pin in the fuse block side and the light blue wires at the switch. Measured an open circuit. Checked continuity from the connecting pin in the headlight side of the harness to the micro switch gray/black wire conector and get resistance (continuity). Indicated to me a problem probably with the bulb burned or a poor contact of the bulb in the bulb holder.

      Thanks John and Dave. It will be a while before I can try these tests myself, but your information has clarified how things are supposed to work.
