    Heater Box Repairs

I have a 65 A/C car, the inner heater box has had some of the flange cracked or broken off, where it bolts or contacts the firewall. The material looks to be very thin in that area.

Any suggestions on the best method or material to use when building up the missing flange and repair the cracks?

I've made repairs on them using a fiberglass repair kit that had strands of fiberglass already mixed in, I believe it was called "tiger tail" fiberglass repair. I got it at an auto paint store. Use a razor blade to chop the fibers into smaller strands befoe using it and it blends in well with the original fiberglass and can be shaped after it dries.
