C2 1964 TI Amp location and hardware

Need to known how the TI amp. is mounted - up or down? Recently purchased a new decal for Amp from paragon and noticed is was upside down - called and the answer was the Amp is mounted upside down on the bracket, OK that make sense. HOWEVER on my 64 FI it can not be done and I remember that it was mounted right side up in front of air intake hole. Did early 64 FI's have it mounted right side up?
And what are the correct bolts for bracket and Amp attachment?

Checked on line info from tispecialty.com, but no info there or other lit I have.
    Thanks Alan

Alan -- can't respond specifically for '64, and I know they are different because of the bracket, but if your first Q is how is the decal mounted on the amplifier, the answer is upside down (ie. if you hold the amp with baseplate up, you can read the decal (red left/silver right). They are like this from '65 thru the later design "343" pigtail amp. I have an early example of an "005" with the foil-on-paper backing, [w/pre-Jan '67 curved edge cover plate] (not the later decal [foil-only w/adhesive]).

So, in the case for '65's, with the amp mounted to the outside rad support and the decal facing up, it reads upside down if you are standing opposite the engine and looking down.

Check out the link below; it has a shot of the amp on a vertical bracket in a Camaro grille area. Note the nuts holding the amp to the bracket. These appear to be the same bolts/nuts that hold the early Pontiac "005" amps to their plate, and if so, are the same length/size cad plated recessed hex-head bolts that would be on your finned valve covers (minus the head markings).

Maybe others can address your specific year application with more precision. Congrat's on your K66 car; very rare option in '64.
