Gentlemen - I do not know if you can help on a newer Corvette - mine is a 72 convertable but my son's is a 1996. Hope so. I can not program the key FOB that I think I fixed. The dealer states the following:
1. Make sure remote is at least 30 feet from car.
2. turn Key to 'run ' or ' on' position.
3. Press the TRIP button once and release,
4. Press the TRIP button again but hold down for 5 seconds.
5. Within 5 seconds of that, press and hold the FUEL INFO button for 10 seconds.
He states the PKE light will come on .
6. Turn the ignition switch back to the lick position BUT do not remove the key.
The PKE light is supposed to flas once per second at this point enabling you to bring the transmitter near the car for programming. Thi is automatica and suposed to alert you that programming is complete with a steady non blinking PKE light.
The light never come on at all when I do this. I am trying to determine if the RKE transciever which lives behind the dash and takes about 2.5 hours to get at is bad. Please help if possible - thanks, michael sciarra.
