The one good thing that happened at the Rolex today, since the Corvette's did not do very well for the 3 that were there was that I got to wear my Duntov autographed hat in Victory Lane and on the Podium with the winning Sun Trust car and drivers. It is fun being part of a winning team.

Sooooo David, tell us the circumstances that got U on the Podium. Was it related to driving a Z06; were U driving; did U sponsor a car?

You remember the old saying, it is not what you know by who you know. I know a VP of Suntrust who knows of my car and my history of racing cars and boats. One day he asked me if I would like to go to this years race. I says sure and last week two VIP packages arrive on Thursday. The packages included tickets to to every suite at the track. Will in the Sun Trust suite near the end of the race a young lady sticks her head in the room and says who would like to go to Victroy Circle, who could say no. While there they invited me and Patty on to the Podium to meet the drivers. I always dreamed of being in Victory Circle at Daytona and at my mid 60's age that is about the only way I could make it.

Twice my 1963 Z06 was in the Chevy tent at the race but this weekend tops all of the trophies in my career.
