    Painting bottom of '57

I am frameoff restoring a '57 and have media blasted all the fiberglass. Amazing what things can happen to fiberglass over 48 years.. yes, fiberglass can "rot" and become quite brittle... anyway. I am trying to find out what areas of the underbody that need to be painted and areas not to paint. Especially under the tire carrier Thanks.

Ed, basically none of the underbody was painted. The single exception was the wheel well blackout process which was done for visual reasons and only in the areas one would typically see standing and looking at the car. At the rear, vetical portions of the spare tub will display some of this blackout process. There was also a bit of black undercoat added to the wheel wells. The actual underbody was not painted and should be raw fiberglass.
