For a 1972 corvette being NCRS judged can you get reproduction T3 bulbs or should they be NOS? Also how do you describe the 2 types ie is one a hi low and the other a hi? Thank you, MN

Re: T3 bulbs 1972
MN,
Go for the NOS. Most repros now show the DOT logo and a funky dotting area around the T-3 center triangle. The lamps are well spelled out in the 70-72 Judging Manual that would be a good reference to use prior to having your car judged. JMO.- Top

Re: T3 bulbs 1972
The 72 headlights are one year only and are very difficult to find in NOS. I looked for a long time before I finally found a full set. I don't have any idea if they have been reproduced. OTH, the points loss for using a repro with wrong markings is pretty small.
If you choose to go NOS, check Hemmings each month as well as the Driveline. Your description is correct - one is a high beam, the other low. They are not interchangeable since one is three prong and the other a two prong. For the record, I had no difficulty locating original, working T3 high beams for my 66 in salvage yards. At one time I had a half dozen and they all worked. When the weather gets better you may be able to find proper 72 T3 high beams in the salvage yards. Just remember to check the VIN tag and get them off of a 72 GM car.
